Trip Itinerary "Chupacabra"
This expedition has become a favorite for most. This is also an amazing trip for those who are new to driving offroad and to Baja. This 4 day expedition is designed for you to really enjoy Baja for what it is. Amazing trails with never ending scenery. The driving style is more rally driving then rock crawling. A defiant favorite is the beach driving before getting into San Quintin. The hotels are authentic Baja style and the staff will make you feel right at home. If you came not expecting amazing food well you're in for a surprise. Dinners and breakfasts will be mouth watering.
Meet up time is 6am in Tecate at our secure paring lot (address will be emailed to you after registration and payment)
Day 1 - 110 miles. The first day is always a big one and not because of the big miles but mainly because of the early morning wake up to get to the boarder, all the excitement and the endless days of preparation before the trip. So we planned accordingly with a great into day from Tecate to Ensenada. we start off with a small Hwy drive down Hyw 3 then cut East through the mountain toward Laguna Hanson. This is a grate trail to start the day off. It's not super technical or challenging but it does get you ready for the next few days. As we decent South toward Ojos Negros we'll stop for some delicious tacos and fuel before heading back into the the mountains on some fast and amazing trails. Arrival time at the hotel is expected to be mid afternoon.
Day 2 - 200ish miles. Early morning rise and shine. As we depart through Ensenada we'll make our way down to the Pacific Beach and ride the coast line most of the day. This route has it all. Fast passed dirt roads, some technical hill climbs and yes everyones favorite driving on the Beach. Lunch for the day will be on the Pacific. Although this day is a higher milage day, it is fast day and we put in some big miles and still get to explore a little, The hotel for the night will be the Old Mill Hotel in San Quintin and the food will leave your mouth watering for weeks.
Day 3 - 200ish miles. Leaving San Quintin we'll make a quick gas stop before hitting the trails North back up to Colonet. More beach riding will be on the menu for today. Tide permitting!!! As we crank out the first 80 miles we'll start to make our way East over the "crossover road' that will take us over to Valley De la Trinidad. This nail biting mountain crossing must be driven with caution as a shear cliffs and loose gravel roads will keep you on the edge the whole time. As we start our decent down to Vally T for lunch and more fuel. We'll complete our last 100 miles for the day riding North through vet fast passed trails and back up into the mountains of Ensenada to Horse Power Ranch.
Day 4 - 100Ish miles. The last day. We all knew this day would come but we have planned a fast fun more rally driving stage to get us back up to Tecate. Hard packed roads with drifting corners amazing scenery and rock formations. Our plan is to get to the boarder around 1pm and say our good buys.
