Trip Itinerary:

October 21st 2026:

Fly Day: We plan to meet at the CBX border crossing into Mexico. Flight departure times will be posted at a later date, so I’ll inform you once I have them. We'll cross into Tijuana and fly to Loreto (flight info to follow). After arriving in Loreto, we will be transported to the La Mission hotel. This stunning hotel is located on the main boardwalk along the Sea of Cortez. We will complete the driver's orientation and UTV prep for the next day's departure before heading to a happy hour at the bar, followed by dinner and some fun activities.

Questions:

So what is the CBX? Cross Border Xpress is a convenient indoor pedestrian bridge that seamlessly connects CBX San Diego to the Tijuana International Airport.

October 22nd 2026:

Off-road Day one, Loreto to Scorpion Bay is about 150 miles. Leaving Loreto at 8:00 am sharp. Today's first part of the trip will take us up the winding road to San Javier Mission for a quick point of interest (POI). Once we leave the mission, the dirt begins on a high-speed trail, leading us through washes and creeks. Although locals maintain this trail well, the arroyos can be hazardous, as rocks and leftover debris often fill them after any flood. As we approach the main highway, roughly 80 miles from Mission San Javier, we will make a gas stop on the main road and eat lunch at our favorite roadside pizza restaurant. After lunch, our course will head north toward Scorpion Bay. One of the most epic rides we do in Baja is riding the beach, and these next 60 miles won't disappoint. From Santa Domingo to Las Barrancas, we will be tearing up the sand just inches from the Pacific Ocean. If that wasn't enough, in the last 50 miles into Scorpion Bay, we will be back at the waterfront, right at our destination for the night at the Scorpion Bay Hotel.

October 23rd 2026:

Today's adventure will take us south from Scorpio Bay to San Carlos, covering approximately 150 miles through some of Baja's best terrain and back down the white sand beaches. We will then pass through small fishing villages, where we may be able to catch clams or even lobster for dinner. We will refuel on the highway before tackling the very high-speed San Carlos mangroves. Mangrove trees block the trails as you weave tightly through the lightly whooped-out sand trails and run the naturally winding race course at the water's edge. Soon, the twists lead to long, straight stretches at high speed. Extreme caution is needed on these trails, as what was once small sand whoops have grown into uneven sand mounds. We will check in once we reach the highway to confirm we made it safely. The hotel for tonight is the "Villas Mar Y Arena," located on the world-famous fishing grounds of Magdalena Bay. This stunning villa-style hotel is beachfront and offers a magnificent view of the bay.

October 24th 2026:

This is the longest day of our adventure, at over 230 miles. Today, we push a little harder to make good time into La Paz. We will limit the check-ins on the trail and maintain a steady, moderate pace. The first stretch of today is fast, long, and somewhat straight. With stunning cacti lining each side of the path as we race past, you'll need to keep your arms inside the UTV. We will also encounter some silt (fine sand, sediment) sandwiches today as we weave down the Baja Peninsula. We plan to fuel off the chase truck at mile 95, since there's no gas nearby. The next roughly 100 miles into La Paz offer breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and pristine white sand beaches. We won't be right on the sand during this stage; instead, we'll ride the hard-packed high road all the way south to San Isidro before crossing the entire peninsula from west to east into La Paz. The hotel for tonight is the Marina Waterfront Hotel.

October 24th 2026:

Today, we soak in the beauty of La Paz. After a long day of exploring Baja, what's better than relaxing on a private 100+ foot yacht, touring the white-sand beaches of La Paz's islands? The yacht departs around 1pm from the marina and cruises to remote beaches where you can swim in 85-degree water and jump off the boat. Lunch and drinks will be served during the cruise. The 8-hour charter is definitely a highlight of the trip. After the cruise, we'll return to the marina and enjoy dinner and drinks at the hotel restaurant.

October (25th 2026:

The last ride. Driving from La Paz to Los Ceriots, located on the Pacific side of the cape. Today, we ride coast to coast, departing La Paz and riding some fast, almost jungle-like trails through the mountains toward the Pacific. These are slower-paced trails but offer beautiful sights along the way. As we near the highway, we’ll cross over to the north side and continue through the southern Baja cactus forests on soft, loamy trails before reaching the beaches of Todos Santos. This is the perfect moment for a group picture, as we will be right on the sand with waves crashing nearby. Southbound beach ride time. The beaches of Todos Santos are very soft, so maintaining a moderate pace is essential to protect the UTV. A key stop for the day is the Green Room restaurant/bar for a celebratory drink and snack. The Green Room, right on the sand, has an incredible Tulum vibe—a perfect way to celebrate the adventure. Our final drive of the day will take us through the town of Todos Santos and then down Highway 1 to Ceriotts, about a 9-mile drive to the Ceriotts Surf Resort.

Upon arrival at Ceriotts Surf Resort, the UTVs will be loaded onto the transport and transported back to California. Therefore, double-checking and packing the UTV and any items you do not want to travel with is essential.

Party time! Imagine having dinner on the sand, a fire pit burning, and the sun setting over the Pacific while waves crash on the shore. Drinks and stories of the adventure will surely fill the air with good vibes.

Independent departure: For those leaving the next day, you will need to book a van to the airport. This can be arranged at the hotel.
