Day-by-Day Itinerary

1

USA TO SAN QUINTIN

October 10th, 2026

With a 6:00 am start, we'll cross the US border at Tecate into Baja, Mexico. We'll drive the Compadre Trail through pine forests, Sierra de Juarez mountains, and Hwy 3 to Valle Trinidad. Then, we'll ascend the Pikes Peak of Baja to Mike’s Sky Ranch. We'll continue to Old Coyote Ranch, journeying west to the Pacific Ocean. Along "El Baja Talladega," we'll meet the Chase Crew for lunch and head to San Quintin for our stay at The Old Mill.

2

SAN QUINTIN to Catavina

October 11th, 2026

Departing the Old Mill, we'll take a 50-mile off-road loop down Hwy 1 to El Rosario before tackling the Catavina loop. The day will offer perfect trails and sights, including the Dr. Seuss trees and cactus forests of Catavina. Heading west to the Pacific Ocean, we'll drive a new trail down into the amazing rock formations. The loop will be technical, with giant rocks and ruts along the way. Sand washes and tight twisty turns make for some epic riding. The tail will eventually lead us back to the Hwy and we will make our way to the hotel.

3

CATAVINA to Bahia De Los Angeles

October 12th, 2026

After a spectacular night's dinner and much-needed rest, we'll head South to Bahía de los Ángeles. Today, we have two routes planned, so depending on conditions, we'll decide on the best route. Route one will be the Freds Tractor trail, a very narrow, steep, and extremely rocky pass to the East; route two will be through the Chapala Silt beds. Either way, you will be in for an extreme driving day. Crossing Hwy 5 and a quick stop at Coco's corner, a fast-paced Baja 1000 race course lies ahead. Yes, it's rough and plenty of rutts and whoops, but definitely a fun experience. Our last stage will be on the road to Bahía de los Ángeles.

4

Bahia De Los Angeles to San Juanico aka “Scorpion Bay”

October 13th, 2026

Today's journey to Scorpion Bay will be the longest of the trip, covering 240 miles. The ride will be quick but incredibly beautiful as we follow the trails along the Sea of Cortez on more graded roads that seem endless. A picture-perfect trail lunch on the beach in San Francisquito is always a must, time permitting, lol. More long, winding trails will take us about 100 miles to El Arco before a highway drive to San Ignacio. After a quick visit to San Ignacio Mission, we will then travel 100 miles toward Scorpion Bay. We'll need to stay alert as we cross the salt flats and sandy washes. The last 20 miles into Scorpion Bay are hard-packed roads over some huge, belly-dropping hills. We will stay at Scorpion Bay Hotel, enjoying its comfortable accommodations and delicious food.

5

San Juanico to Loreto

October 14th, 2026

Saying a sad goodbye to Scorpion Bay's Baja hospitality will soon be a thought of the past as we head south down the hard-packed beach of the Pacific Ocean. As far as your eye can see, we drive inches from the water's edge. before starting our peninsula crossing toward Loreto. If you're the rally-style driver type, you'll love the trail over. Fast, drifty corners and epic views. This trail will lead us right to another treasure of Baja, the San Javier Mission, located in the mountains of Loreto. This is definitely one of our favorite missions to visit. After a quick tour, we descend to Loreto and once again to the Sea of Cortez for the night. Our hotel will be right on the water's edge, offering amazing views.

6

Loreto to San Carlos

October 15th, 2026

Yes, you guessed it, we are crossing the Baja peninsula again, but today is a little different—if you like fast, soft whoops and very tight trails. The San Carlos mangrove trails (basically an overgrown mix of cactus and bushes) are tight and fast, but you need to be on your game, as the narrow trails can take the mirrors right off your UTV. It’s a fast-paced day, and with the excitement and adrenaline rushing through your veins, some have been known to overdrive their machines. We end up in San Carlos, also known as Magdalena Bay, for whale watching and fishing. Sleeping right on the Bay is a surreal experience, as well as the hotel accommodations. Lunch will be on the beach before we head to San Carlos for the night at Hotel "Villas Mar y Arena,” known for its stunning views and seafood.

7

San Carlos to Lapaz

October 16th, 2026

I have been told the trip from San Carlos to Lapaz is a customer favorite, and honestly, I can't disagree. It offers a good mix of everything: fast, soft whoops, occasional jumps, tight rights and tight lefts, some race course sections, and more slick mangrove trails. Weaving around the Pacific Ocean water inlets before stopping for lunch on the beach. Today won't disappoint. After lunch, a more challenging upper trail on a hard-packed surface heading south, then changing direction east to cross the peninsulas again toward Lapaz. We will end with a highway drive through the beachfront city of Lapaz, then proceed to a private marina where our hotel is located.

7

Lapaz to Cabo

October 17th, 2026

Our last ride takes us through the East Cape of Southern Baja, offering breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez. Although tantalizing views are everywhere, our cliff-side drive trail will keep you white-knuckled as we navigate the narrow trail. Today is a slower-paced day and time to take in the trip's last dirt miles, as our trip will be coming to an end soon. We'll stop to enjoy the waters of East Cape before ending our journey. Most mornings, we'll have breakfast at 7:00 am and leave by 8:00 am to maximize our exploration.
